~~~~~Thank you for your hospitality at Pearl Cohn Magnet School!
Wow! What a special experience it was to visit the Life Skills class! Ms. Abbey Frady's class welcomed a presentation of "First Impressions" and learned all about personal presentation to create the best image of oneself in important situations. This group of inner city students gained invaluable information regarding personal grooming, attire, handshakes and self-introduction and also enjoyed well-earned refreshments! It was a pleasure to offer these ambitious and hard working students the opportunity to benefit from a unique program generally less accessible in urban areas. I was so impressed by these teens~ one of the most polite and receptive group I have ever instructed! I look forward to their success stories!
~~~~~Thank you for the huge welcome at the Williamson County Library!
A special thank you to the staff of the Children's Department of the Franklin Branch.
First Impressions Consulting was cordially invited to make a special presentation to the Homeschool Explorers Club serviced through the library system. On Friday morning, February 19, over fifty children (ages 5-13) accompanied by their parents filed into a huge child friendly activity room for a two hour presentation which began by provided a wealth of information on the history and purpose of etiquette. After an explanation of why manners matter in our society, the instruction focused on how to make a good first impression when meeting and greeting others. Following practical demonstration, everyone practiced activities to enhance personal poise: facial expression, physical deportment, handshaking, and making formal introductions. Hopefully, all the kids had a grand time especially since refreshments were included and will use their new knowledge to be more self-confident in all situations.
Due to limited public funding for library services, First Impressions Consulting was pleased to be able to assist the Library on a pro bono basis. We feel committed to the mission of social education and routinely work to spread word of our program throughout the community and are grateful for the opportunity to help serve local needs.

WOW! WE HAD A BEARY GOOD TIME ON SATURDAY!
THANK YOU to those who attended the "BEARY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY"!
What good workers these young ladies were, AND I think they had some fun too! All cash received for tuition will go to new bears to join the ones brought to class! The new teddy bears collected will go to Mercy Children's Clinic. Candy bags with ornaments made by the girls will go to lonesome seniors at Legacy Home. Other candy bags will go to the kids at "My Friends House" and the Boys and Girls Club. GOOD JOB! Little ladies! My heart is so full from this experience!
During the party, eight young ladies made their own bear ornament to take home, listened to Christmas carols while working to fill candy bags, enjoyed refreshments and received parting goody bags and awards, and will also receive a photo commemorating this experience and their part in helping others have a "Beary Merry Christmas"! God bless you and yours this holiday and ALWAYS!

New Program Notes:
First Impressions Consulting (FIC) is pleased to announce
"The Etiquette Program for Teens"!
Marketing efforts are underway to promote a package of classes designed especially for young ladies and gentlemen ages 13-15.This curriculum will include timely social instruction on topics of interest to teens while focusing on parental concerns as well. In this stage of personal development, even very stable kids generally exhibit awkward behavior and are plagued by self-doubt.The underlying theme for this curriculum is "Knowledge is Power". As teens transition to a more unforgiving social climate, "campus cool" simply requires more sophistocated know-how. Confidence, self-esteem, and personal command over social circumstances are absolutely paramount to teen productivity and continued future success. This is particularly true for college bound youths.
Among the topics to be offered are:
"First Impressions"-
Individual presentation includes grooming, deportment, meeting/greeting others, handshake & formal introductions.
"Time to Talk-IDK How"-
Communication & conversation skills includes verbal/nonverbal and skill building exercises.
"Techno- Manners" -
Electronic lifestyle management includes landline phone manners, netiquette, cell phone usage, & hand held audio devices.
"Table Manners" -
Comprehensive dining includes place setting, formal/casual skills, methods, proper behavior & social conversation.
"Teen Choice"-
Class choice of pressing topics for discussion, question & answer session.
The teen scene is often overwhelming to kids and parents alike.
Offer your help early! The latter teen stage...dating, driving, part-time jobs, college applications... sees time pass too quickly. This curriculum is designed to offer teens understanding and parental support through social instruction which will help clarify the purpose, desires and expectations of all.
First Impressions Consulting boasts a very successful children's program, and has been approached by parents interested in teen offerings. We solicit your serious assistance in helping to market these classes to parents who may be reluctant to challenge their teen's predictable sense of independence and loathing for what is "good for them". Due to our effective instructional style, we are pleased to provide a FULL tuition refund should your teen not wish to return to class. Tuition per class is $25. and a package discount will apply.(TBA) The "Puffy Muffin" Restaurant in Brentwood will be a most convenient venue for Brentwood and Franklin families.
Enrollment may be coed, but will be determined by prevailing registration. Our target schedule is to offer a package of classes to begin the week of February 11. We welcome your input with regard to date, time, and topical preferences. With the help of dedicated parents, "The Etiquette Program for Teens" should be well-received in the community as a popular after school activity and social opportunity.
Kindly share this info with other parents of teens.
